Phase 4

Kevin Feige announced Phase 4 at San Diego Comic-Con.

Finally, Phase 4 of the MCU was announced at San Diego Comic-Con by President Kevin Feige. Phase 4 will consist of 5 movies and 5 Disney+ series.

The First movie coming out is the Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson. This movie is a prequel probably taking place during the time between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Other actors starring in the movie will be Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh and David Harbour. The movie was announced to be released on May 1, 2020.

In Fall of 2020, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will be released on Disney+, starring Anthony Mackie as the Falcon and Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier. The series will be picking up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Daniel Brühl, who starred in Captain America: Civil War as Baron Zemo, is going to reappear in the MCU in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series.

On November 6, 2020, The Eternals will make their way to the cinemas. The Eternals centers on a group of beings known as Eternals who use their advanced skills to protect humans in the future. Feige confirmed that the movie will star Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie.

Simu Liu is making his way into the MCU on February 12, 2021 as Shang-Chi in the movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Like The Eternals, Shang-Chi isn't a household name, but Mavel Studios is hoping that they’ll both have wide, mainstream appeal. The hero devotes his entire life on mastering the art of Kung Fu and bringing down his father's criminal empire, the Ten Rings. If you haven't already figured it out, Shang-Chi's father and villain of the movie is The Mandarin, who was supposed to appear in Iron Man 3, but turned out to be an actor hired by Aldrich Killian. It was known that The Mandarin would eventually appear in the MCU, after the events of the Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King.

The Next Disney+ series will be WandaVision, which will be released in Spring of 2021, starring Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany as Vision. Not much is known about the series, although it was confirmed that it takes place after Avengers: Endgame, which leads us to the question: "How can the Vision come back?"

The events of WandaVision lead right to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and, surprisingly, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. The movie's villains will probably be Nightmare and Mordo. This is going to be the first horror movie of the MCU and will be released on May 7, 2021.

Spring of 2021 seems to be full of MCU series. Apart from WandaVision, Disney+ will also release Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston as the villain we all love. The series will show us the adventures of Loki from the alternate reality created by the Avengers in Avengers: Endgame, in which Loki escaped with the Tesseract after the Battle of New York in 2012. This character hasn't experienced the events of Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War so he hasn't join Thor and he is still the villain who desires the throne of Asgard.

The Fourth series of Disney+, which is going to be released during Summer of 2021, will be an animated, non-canon series called What If..?, showing us alternate takes on the existing MCU. The panel revealed that numerous MCU actors will reprise their roles for these alternate takes.

The Final Disney+ series is Hawkeye, starring Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye during the time between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, in which he had become Ronin. The series will be coming out in Fall, 2021.

And finally, the last film of Phase 4 announced will be Thor: Love and Thunder, starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and, to everyone's surprise, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who will actually gain the powers of the God of Thunder and become Thor. The film will be released on November 5, 2021.

Other future films that were announced were: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, both a Captain Marvel and a Black Panther sequel and finally, Mahershala Ali will star as Blade in an upcoming Blade film, even though he played Cottonmouth in Netflix's Luke Cage series in the past.
